Canine Eye Registration Foundation Eye Disease Reports for the years 1993-1998

The CERF Eye Registry for Cotons de Tulear began in 1993.  The data are rather meager for the years 1993 through 1998 when the Coton began to achieve popularity in the U.S.

1993 -- 2 females were tested, both 3-4 years old, and both were normal

1994 -- 1 female was tested 2-3 years old, and she was normal

1995 -- 7 females and 4 males were tested:1 F age 1, 3 F age 3, 2 F age 4, 1 F age 6.  4 M age 3
             10 were normal
             1 Female age 6-7 had a posterior cataract and a punctate cataract

1996 -- 4 females and 2 males were tested: 2 F age 3, 1 F age 4, 1 F age 6:  2 M age 3
             All 6 were normal

1997 -- 17 females and 10 males were tested:  2 F age 2, 4 F age 3, 6 F age 4, 2 F age 5, 3 F age 6:
             2 M age 2, 2 M age 3, 2 M age 4, 2 M age 5, 2 M age 9
             16 females and 7 males were normal
             2 males age 9 had posterior catract
             2 males age 9 had punctate cataract
             1 male age 3 and 1 male age 9 had retinal atrophy-suspicious

1998 -- 6 females and 3 males were tested:  1 F age 1, 2 F age 2, 1 F age 4, 1 F age 5, 1 F age 6:
             2 M age 4, 1 M age 8
             All were normal except for 1 female age 6 who had retinal dysplasia focal/folds and
             1 male age 4 who had retinal dysplasia geographic
